Montmartre under the snow

A rare sight of Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur Basilica under the snow.

Had great fun drawing this from a photo sent by a lucky friend who was visiting the historical neighbourhood of artists during an infrequent and beautiful episode of snow in the French capital.

Recorded the drawing process too and hope you’ll enjoy watching as much as we did creating the sketch! ?

  1. I’d seen the images on Le Point. Unusual snow.
Great sketch. I like your style. The video is also interesting. I like to see how others “attack” their drawing. You start for top to bottom. I probably would have started this one from the walls on the left. Working the perspective to the Point-de-fuite, Then the buildings and the Coupole.
I also document my own process, though not on video. I take pictures at various stages, pencil, ink, paint…
    Thank you.
